the city of cleveland, ohio, african-american voters are 26 times more likely than white voters to use early in-person voting as their preferred way of voting. for this election in particular, even though it's been fine for every election in the past seven years, for this election in particular, early in person voting must be stopped. to the point of taking it to the supreme court of the united states with 28 days left before the election and meanwhile leaving the whole state's voting rules hanging. as ohio hits its voter registration deadline today and so many other states as well, what we know about how the parties have done on voter registration in the swing states opens a real interesting window into how the two parties are contesting the important states. this is a matter not just of national but of international importance. you can tell because the guardian newspaper from the uk has published a deep look into swing state voter registration numbers this past weaning. you can see their headline here. democrats struggle to repeat 2008 voter surge despite registration push. in sw

city of cleveland. the study found that african-americans used early in person voting at 26 times the rate of white voters in 2008. the study used census tracks where the voting population is over 80% african-american. every one of those red dots on the map represent 50 early voters. ohio republicans were trying to end early voting 72 hours prior to election day except for members of the armed forces. luckily for all ohio voters, their efforts have failed. on friday a federal appeals court judge upheld a lower courts decision striking down the law. the three-judge panel ruled the 72-hour voting period should be open to all voters in the state, including members of the military. this is good news. some questions still remain. it's being report the the final decision could be up to individual ohio counties meaning 72-hour window we're talking about could still end in certain places in the state. ohio republicans can still file another appeal sending it to the supreme court. as of now, there's no word of that appeal. it is big. president obama needs ohio to win the election. in most scen

the city that's mile high and so am i. i'm not high the way don was but high with excitement in anticipation for this debate tonight. we have been waiting, it seems, for months for this thing. let's set the stage before we get going. you know, sometimes i think the cliche cliches are true. this is one of them. we heard talk about how? a do-or-die for mitt romney n a lot of ways it really is. there are basically three possible outcomes, the way i see it tonight. someone that romney really does get some kind of a lift out of this it's a command performance, maybe some kind of slipup by obama. you think of john kerry in the first debate in 2004. maybe romney is able to revive his campaign tonight. the second possibility is, you know, something goes wrong for romney, he actually loses this debate. obviously that would be terrible for him now the third possibility, to be honest, probably the most likely one is nothing happens it is pace basically a draw, maybe 90 minutes of dull and boring television if that happens, the status quo in this vase affirmed. the status quo in this race h
